Joe Studied his Bachelor's degree (B.Sc. Honors) in chemistry and molecular biology at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He went on to study his Ph.D. at the same institute under the supervision of Assoc Prof Rob Keyzers. His thesis centered on the Chemical Investigations of Marine Organisms of the South Pacific. In 2021 He joined the Baker lab as a post-doctoral researcher working on the Isolation of Tongalides, Halogenated Butenolides from an Antarctic Delisea sp. Rhodophyte as well as the isolation, purification and characterization of other Natural Products.
Joe currently works at the University of Western Australia studying the biosynthesis of fungal natural products as a postdoctoral researcher.
